I thoroughly enjoyed the Creative Day on Sunday! Thank you so much. It's not often I have the opportunity to play for a whole day but to learn, relax and develop whilst exploring creative play was wonderful. Held in the beautiful surroundings of the Northumbrian coast, with woodland on one side and the beach on the other, and hosted by the talented and creativity-nurturing artist Gail Curry, this is a perfect 'day away' session and I highly recommend it. I have felted pebbles on my coffee table now; and I thought I wasn't creative!

We spent an idyllic day with Gail of Happy Planet Creative Arts CIC in Low Hauxley. Gail has an amazing shop with lots of fabulous crafts and artwork. She... read more also runs various workshops.
We had a fabulous retreat day with Gail in Low Hauxley where there is a remote beach.
The day started with meditation, followed by an hour on the beach foraging for inspiration to dye silk scarves. Gail also encouraged group members to fly her kite.
We dyed silk scarves on return and ate lunch in the garden.
Next activity was mandala stones. Gail is so talented and gave expert support for both activities.
A perfect way to relax and escape for the day.
Highly recommended.

After doing a couple of needle felting workshops with Gail Curry I couldn't wait to sign up for an afternoon of picture making using wet felt. The session was great... read more fun and it was easy to get lost in the process making it so relaxing. Gail is an excellent, and patient, teacher and I was thrilled with my first ever felt picture. Thanks Gail.

I was so happy to find this lovely space and the very talent Gail again!
I've done a beginning felting workshop last year which I really enjoyed. The... read more shop has so many different types of nice art that you're spoil for choices. After a long bike ride last Sunday, I walked into the shop and straight away I was offered a cup of tea and an amazing carrot cake (the cake was for the shop birthday!) What a great and personnel customer service experience! I've left the shop with a big smile on my face as I've got some great tips on my next felting project, some quality felting and I've booked myself on the next workshop which I can't wait!

Popped in yesterday for the first time after often walking past and admiring the window display. Beautiful crafts adorn every surface, needless to say this is now going to be... read more my ‘go to’ shop for gifts for everyone. Had a lovely chat with the owner who has created some exquisite pieces, so talented. Also discovered they run workshops and I’ll definitely be booking onto one of those in the future. What a happy discovery to have made and it’s been almost on our doorstep all along!

Silver clay jewellery workshop with Emine Thompson.
This was the first workshop I’d done at Happy Planet and I loved it.
Gail’s shop is full of lovely handmade... read more crafts so there’s lots of interesting and beautiful things to look at, and all of them made from recycled and environmentally friendly materials.
Gail is very friendly and welcoming and Emine is an inspirational teacher who
patiently explained the process of preparing and sculpting our pieces.
Being quite impatient by nature, I loved the fact that the whole process took only a few hours to complete so I was able to see the final result. I was amazed that a small blob of clay could be transformed into a shiny metal object in such a short space of time. There was a magical moment when the pale grey pieces were brushed to reveal a lovely sparkly shine.
All materials were provided, including jump rings and earring hooks, with the option to buy more silver clay and extras such as silver chains at discounted prices.
I’m looking forward to doing some more workshops at Happy Planet.
