  • 5 star review  Visited this lovely shop on its open day on Friday & was greeted with a smile by the lovely lady Gail. Spent a while browsing & chatting with Gail who can tell you all about the products & who has made them. Highly recommend if you are looking for a gift that is a little bit different.

  • 5 star review  Happy Planet is the perfect place to pick up a meaningful gift that is full of soul: one off pieces of art that are really affordable. There is a wonderful sense of community and inclusion about the place. Gail is a remarkable lady and she will gladly make you feel welcome and accepted in her space (I say "space" because it's much more than a shop.) Check out the variety of workshops as well. Gail is a creative and an encourager who I don't doubt will facilitate a really productive and enjoyable session for anyone, regardless of skill or experience. If you're in Whitley Bay make sure you go out of your way to visit.

  • 5 star review  My sister absolutely loved her one off felted diary that I bought her for her birthday!! And the fact that she can reuse the cover in future years to come is a big bonus for a Yorkshire lass!! Lol. Thanks again Gail!

  • 5 star review  I thoroughly enjoyed the Creative Day on Sunday! Thank you so much. It's not often I have the opportunity to play for a whole day but to learn, relax and develop whilst exploring creative play was wonderful. Held in the beautiful surroundings of the Northumbrian coast, with woodland on one side and the beach on the other, and hosted by the talented and creativity-nurturing artist Gail Curry, this is a perfect 'day away' session and I highly recommend it. I have felted pebbles on my coffee table now; and I thought I wasn't creative!

  • 5 star review  I had an amazing afternoon learning to needle felt with Gail Curry. I came away with a felt badge I had made myself from scratch and the tools to continue felting at home! Gail was so encouraging and helpful and the I loved the amazing views from The Mission in North Shields. Thanks so much Gail and I'll be back.

  • positive review  I attended one of Gail's creative retreats which she held at Low Hauxley. Oh what an amazing day! To be able to focus on something so different to my normal day, to learn new skills from someone who is so talented and patient, to let creativity flow - it was simply wonderful! Thoroughly enjoyed it and more importantly it did me the world of good -so beneficial for maintaining your health. Thank you so much Gail. xx

  • 4 star review  Was really looking forward to my needle felting class on Sunday, was late but Gail was super about it. Nice relaxed and informal setting, great tuition and lots of encouragement from Gail who is very welcoming and easy going. So many ideas and thoughts to progress beyond the course but more classes needed to carry those forward. Can't wait for next class. Thanks Gail Pam Wilson

  • 5 star review  Lovely shop, really friendly. They have a wide range of arts and crafts. Don't expect just to spend ten minutes in there. Once you get lost in the shop, time disappears.

  • 5 star review  I love visiting Happy Planet Creative Arts and it is my 'go to' place for gifts that are unique, and with the added bonus that they are locally made. I never come out empty handed as I can never resist treating myself as well as whoever I went in to buy a gift for! Congratulations Gail on providing a welcoming space and offering something that is different.
