Happy Planet will have some non-standard hours for a few days as I was a victim of a crime on Tuesday evening and am unable to be at work at the moment. I will update this post as soon as I have information. In the meantime Emine, one of the artists will be opening for some hours starting tomorrow Thursday 18th 9 am – 4 pm and Friday 19th 12.30 – 4.30. I realise this is an inconvenience for everyone. I am hopeful of returning at the weekend, but that is not certain yet. I can answer any queries you might have via messenger or email. Wed 17th Jan 2018
I created Happy Planet to provide an informal nurturing creative opportunity to members of the community, drawing on my experience of a previous career in Social Care and a lifetime of creative practice. Happy Planet has grown to offer regular groups, one-off workshops and now a retail home to promote and sell unique ethical gifts made by local artists in our gallery base.
If you are are not local to us you can purchase some items available in the gallery in our online shop.
Resident Artist Gail Curry’s new collection of poetry
Lines From An Unfinished Love Song charts a journey that began in 2000 with a chance meeting in Warsaw. Gail’s poems record 17 years of friendship, love, loss, depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and finally the path to recovery. The book is being published to mark World Mental Health Day and aims to raise awareness of issues that can affect anyone.
